Kyle's opening chapter, a review of what little we know about killer whales in the Canadian Arctic, is now published in the Canadian Journal of Zoology and has been selected as the editor's choice article (https://www.nrcresearchpress.com/doi/10.1139/cjz-2019-0207#.XopEwYhKiUm). While there is a long history of sightings of killer whales in the eastern Canadian Arctic it seems the frequency of sightings has been on the rise. The map below is of the 643 recorded sighting from between 1850 and 2018. Kyle's paper discusses both the potential reasons and consequences for increased use of the Arctic by killer whales.
